College of Science(CS)
The
College of Science was established on September 10, 2004 through a
Board Resolution No. 75, series of 2004. It was formed when the former
BS Biology of BUCAS, BS Chemistry of BURSTC and BS Computer Science of
Computer Science Institute merged together in response to the need to
pool together the facilities and manpower skills for the development of
an institution of higher learning and research in basic and applied
science and mathematics as envisioned by the BU Comprehensive
Development Plan.
The College will continue to provide
quality education in natural science, mathematics and information and
communication technology at the tertiary level while engaging in
relevant research in various fields of natural sciences, mathematics and
information and communication technology. The college is also active in
extension works, offering various training/seminar-workshop.
Vision
A center of excellence in the sciences, which is relevant and responsive to the needs of the Bicolanos.
Mission
To contribute to the advancement of
Science and Mathematics in the Region through the education of high
caliber scientists imbued with sound moral and ethical standards, the
acquisition of scientific and technological knowledge, and the provision
of scientific and technical services in the region to contribute to a
sustained regional and national growth and development.

The long-term goal of the College of Science is to become a center of excellence for tertiary and advanced scientific education and research. Among its specific goals are the following:

4. To pursue sustainable income-generation program to support excellence in instruction, research and extension.
